Best Practices for Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Success: A Study Based on Restaurant Sector in Sri Lanka

The best practices in the organizations have gained momentum amongst entrepreneurship scholars, but much of benchmarking literature is about large firms. purpose this qualitative multiple case study research aims to explore successful SME restaurants Sri Lanka. based on social reality, which closely aligned with critical realism philosophy. purposive sampling method was used recruit participants study. Twenty-eight interviews were conducted owner restaurant, manager and two customers from each case. In addition that, researcher kept notes any notable observations. data analysed using a thematic approach. found categorised into five major themes: leadership, process management, people strategies responsibility. findings illustrate by attempt incorporate their overall business strategy. practical motivators effort are exemplified benchmarked.
